Assignment 3A- My Entrepreneurship Story

My Entrepreneurship Story

At 8 years old my family moved to Orlando from Miami which is where they opened a restaurant and a door to door delivery service to South America. As I got older I would help out in the restaurant and get exposed to the idea of owning my own business one day and that has always stuck with me. I would even get tipped by the customers because they found it sweet that I was helping out. I remember my parents getting home after long days of work because even though they were the owners they preferred being there and making sure everything was running smoothly. Even though it wasn't an easy thing for my parents to do they always gave me the best example. Now I know what they did was worth it and it's something I now know makes a good family business, having a good relationship with the customers. Which is why the same people would always go for lunch they liked this idea of having that one on one relationship and being treated like family. I enrolled in this class because of this experience I've had my whole life and want more insights on how to be an effective entrepreneur. I believe everything taught will benefit me and will help in the long run.

  1. Hi Guiliana, your entrepreneurship story was very interesting to read. Since my parents also own their own business, I too learned the importance of having good customer service, as well as understanding the need for innovation. It also taught me how to not give up so easily if something is not going my way. I think if you explained a little bit more on what you planned on using the skills from this course for it would clarify your future plans, such as creating a business or etc.

  2. Hi Guiliana! I had a very similar entrepreneurship story to you. My parents decided to open a store when I was in fifth grade, and it made a major impact on my life. It was interesting to see the behind the scenes of how a business is run. I used to help out stock shelves and checkout the people at the register. It was also the reason why I decided to take this class. I wanted to get a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship. Overall, I found your story very interesting and I thought you did a great job.

  3. Hi Guiliana! My family also runs a business just like yours, in fact, growing up I also took part in helping out at the restaurant. The moment when you tipped was the most exciting! Owning a restaurant is a very tiring job, so I totally understand how difficult your parents were coming home. In family businesses, customer service is crucial because depending on how well customers are treated is how likely they will do business with you again. Since a family business is unlike a franchise, even one unsatisfied customer can impact the business by a whole. Wish you the best of luck on being successful in your future career!
