14A- Halfway Reflection
Assignment 14A
- What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
- In this course, I've developed a lot of time management skills. I'm always keeping track of the canvas calendar making sure all of my classwork is done in a timely manner. Also, since declaring the assignments is a must I have to remember to always declare and submit the URLs right after completing the assignments. It was something that took some time getting used to but after a while became a habit.
- Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
- There have been many times where I've felt like giving up and can't keep up with school and work. But what has pulled me through is just keeping a positive mindset and always getting work done ahead of time rather than the last minute. I've had a very busy semester but feel like it was just a matter of getting used to my new courses and how things work in each.
- What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset'?
- Even if you do fail, pick right back up from where you left off. Make sure to keep track of all your deadlines.
- Be positive, don't let negativity take over you.
- Work harder every day to get to where you want to go.

Hi Guiliana,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you said about how time management is really important for this class. In order for me to keep up with the class, I always write the assignment in my calendar and I constantly check my Canvas schedule. I also admit that the workload for this class can be overwhelming as well. For me, I always try to start on the assignment at the beginning of the week.
Hi Guiliana! I agree with you about the declaration part of each assignment can be an easily forgotten task because I have times where I would submit my URL for the assignment and forget to go back and make that declaration. But I’m glad we both figured out how to remember these things and made a habit out of it. Also, I think the picture is very cute! It definitely reflects your advice about staying positive and don’t let negativity take over you.
ReplyDeleteHey Guiliana, I like that you also admit to being overwhelmed with school and work, because you are not the only one. I am so glad that you have a positive mindset and you keep it, i find it hard to keep mine especially after an exam. Also, one of the most important things to do is keep up with time management and any planners you use so that you can get the assignments due on time and not possibly forget to do them.
ReplyDeleteGuiliana,
ReplyDeleteI also found the "declaration" part of this course a bit confusing- simply because no other class I've taken has done something like it. (I still don’t really understand why it’s necessary.) Your advice to future students is right on. However, for question 2, I would have wished you talked specifically about a time you had felt like you were struggling/ had failed.
Hi Guiliana,
ReplyDeleteI also agree with your statement that time management skills are essential for this course. If you get behind or miss a deadline, you are not able to make it up for partial credit. I also have felt overwhelmed with this class and just school in general in the weeks approaching midterms. I believe that giving the tip of staying positive will be very useful to incoming students to this class in future semesters.
