Assignment 8A
- My product has to do with allowing drinkers and drivers to measure their alcohol consumption. Many people think that they're "ok" to drive until they get stopped and are over the limit which is 0.08 in Florida this is equal to one beer.
- There are products out there that exist for this such as breathalyzers. They exist in machine form and key chain form but many people don't like or forget to carry these things with them. Not only is it too big especially for men who don't carry purses but it doesn't fit in your pocket comfortably.
- I think a good idea for this would be coming up with a case that can be put on your phone with a hidden breathalyzer that is like a hidden antenna and this way people don't have to worry about forgetting their machine or it not fitting in pockets.
- Another way for this is a small sorta like those new card readers that are put in through the charger area and this can be carried in anyone's pocket and taken out whenever they need it. It's small and convenient for men or women who are carrying a small purse.
- These products would connect through an app which would be created and would tell you your alcohol content and would call you an Uber or Lyft directly through the app. Once you got home they would notify whoever you put as an emergency contact you're home safe.
- I think there is a need out there for this product and can allow drinkers to make sure they're ok to drive and keep measuring it until it goes down and they feel good to drive.
Hi Guiliana, I really like your solution of creating a phone case with a hidden breathalyzer because most people will not leave their house without their phones. If people are more convinced to carry around the product, it will limit accidents on the road and everyone’s lives in general. However, the card reader that each person will have to carry around in their pockets will easily get lost or misplaced since it is such a small, convenient item. Maybe if you could add a feature to where the item is hard to lose in some way, the solution would be even better.

ReplyDeleteI liked how you acknowledged how you acknowledged that your solution does have competition but you also highlighted how your solution differs from those and how it is more convenient. I think that being aware of other possible competitors is so important to product development so you are not making something consumers already have access to and you are able to differentiate yourself.
