Assignment 9A- Testing the Hypothesis Part 2
Assignment 9A:
- Who: After many interviews, I found out that there are many people who fall out of my market. There are people out there who don't believe there is a need for this product because it already exists and they don't mind what's out there or just simply because it's a hassle and they just wouldn't spend money on it. These people do drink and are aware of it such as my first interviewee a twenty-three-year-old student who thinks if she did buy this product she would never use it because she would forget it.
- My second interviewee is a mom who has two twenty-something-year-old sons and one lives with her and the other went away for college. She says buying this product for her kids will encourage them to drink and that's not what she would want. She believes that they're fine just getting Ubers.
- My third interviewee is a twenty-five-year-old who constantly drinks and drives but says that even if he bought the product he would still drink and drive and he rather not know.
- My fourth interviewee is a 33-year-old woman who recently got a divorce and says that maybe she would use it in a couple years but that right now she's depressed and has been drinking a lot and rather take Ubers.
- My last interviewee was hard to find because most people I interviewed liked the product and thought they would use it. But this 21-year-old boy just moved to Gainesville and believes that in a city like Gainesville that wouldn't be necessary because the distances are shorter than in Miami for example and that you can probably get away with it (which is not true) and that people wouldn't buy it.
- What: Even though this product can help many people there are people out there who would still drink and drive. If they get stopped it's up to the cop to determine whether they believe the person is over the limit or not.
- Why: In this case, there's a need out there that can be resolved but it's up to people to be aware of their limits and be responsible. If people don't want to be responsible and think buying this is unnecessary then the need will never get resolved.

Hi Guiliana,
ReplyDeleteI think your interviews were really successful for you in determining how much of a success your solution would be with the public. You said that a lot of people fall out of the market you had previously established for your solution. I think this is good to help you rebrand your product and take the critique you gained from your interviews and use it to your advantage. Overall, great post and insightful interviews.
