Opportunity: SayYesCase is a product that has a specific target market. This market is individuals anywhere from 18+, which is a huge market. The reason for this is that nowadays college students under the age of 21 are still consuming alcohol which is why they're in my market. Although many old people tend to not drink my options are still open just in case. My product is aimed to help individuals stop drinking and driving. Being a child of a former police officer and having 3 members in my family be former police officers is quite interesting, but the stories told are very sad. Which is why I have come up with this idea of creating a phone case that comes attached to a breathalyzer and an app along with it.  

  • I feel like this opportunity is out there it just has to be spoken of and tried before putting it out there to make sure it is effective. What's making this product is the app that will come with the phone case. In this app, people will be able to watch testimonies of others that have been affected by drunk driving. This will touch them emotionally and perhaps be the reason they stop drinking and driving. 
  • As of now, I have not heard of anyone who really uses anything instead they just drive whenever. The need is out there but other companies have not made their products easy and convenient to use. This is why I thought of this product because it would benefit thousands. 
  • I would first introduce this product in my college town which is Gainesville. Many students live here, and it would be great for others to try it out and see how it works for them. From there, I would be able to advertise my product using the testimonies of other users.

Innovation: SayYesCase is essentially a product to decrease drinking and driving. This product will be a phone case that will come with a breathalyzer for individuals who tend to drink and drive. After a couple drinks, one will be able to measure alcohol consumption. The app will be connected and equipped with different levels of consumption. The app will flash a color depending on one’s level. If one is above the limit it will immediately call an Uber or Lyft depending on which account, they use. My idea is to eventually open up something similar to Uber and Lyft which will be connected to the app. This phone case will be convenient for everyone to use and it will come in several colors and designs for everyone’s satisfaction. It will be easy to carry around and they will not have to worry about carrying something uncomfortable. The phone case will start at 35$ and can increase depending on the design. I will start off with the price low and increase it with time. This will cause people to know that it works and there's a demand. 

Venture Concept: My product will provide individuals the right path to stop this bad habit. It’s specially created for those who think drinking and driving is no big deal. It’s a huge deal and more and more cases are being reported. It does not only affect the lives of the individuals behind the wheel but also innocent families who lose family members because of this. 
  •  I believe it will be hard for individuals to adapt to this change especially after doing it for so long. I think the individuals who understand why this is so important to stop will see the benefits of it more than those that don’t.
  • The competitors I have aren’t as established and don’t provide convenient products to use which is why I think I don’t have any direct competitors. The weakness of this is that it’s going to be tough to convince people that this is the right choice. 
  • Prices are going to be extremely important because not many will pay a lot of money for a phone case and I don’t want it to be unaffordable either. I want people to know that it’s available and not something they have to save up to buy. It's something that's there to help and hope they take advantage of it. 
  •  I will start off my product with having social media representatives and employees to be consistently on the online chat on the website and answering phone calls for any individuals who may have questions, concerns, refund, etc. 
     Three Minor Elements:

      1. I would say my "unfair advantage" will be that not everyone has connections with police officers who deal with these situations on a daily basis. Having this advantage and guidance will have me at the top for the most part. They will provide me information and make sure it's reliable. 
      2. I talked about this earlier but my second venture would possibly be not having the app connected to Uber or Lyft. Instead, having my own company that will be linked to this business and be used exclusively for individuals using the app. This will help any problems that could possibly occur in dealing with other companies. I just want people to use the product and measure their consumption to make sure they are fine or not to drive. But, this would happen in a couple years so that when I launch it the main interest is to not drink and drive even if they have the option to. 
      3. In the next 5 years, I would like for my company to be all over the United States and hopefully later on in other countries. I think starting off small wouldn't be bad for now but when it gets big many will start using it and realizing the benefits it brings. I hope for it to start as a trend and for other companies to sponsor it. I would wanna eventually have it on billboards saying something like "backed up by officers." Since not many people will think it's effective it has to be backed up by data and lots of testimonies.

  1. Hi Guiliana! Your statement about your company in 5 years is very similar to mine, because I would like to take my business abroad and make it something bigger as well. Also, I like your idea about having an officer back up your billboard message because it is true that people will believe your data more if you do that and it is much more reinforced if there is a reliable person behind it. I think it’s cool that you have connections with police officers, it’s definitely an “unfair advantage” you have.

  2. Hey Guiliana, I really like that you have clearly defined the mission statement behind your company, it really pulls to the emotions of the people that will be investing in your company and make more young people want to get it. I like the projection of your 5 years in the company good job.

    I like where you envision your company in 5 years, it seems like you have a clear vision for your business which is always good because it gives you, the entrepreneur, a tangible goal to strive towards. Your vision is very different from mine, which I think is so cool how there are so many possible paths one can take in business, its always changing and evolving.

    I think it's amazing that you already have connections within law enforcement since it does give you an edge. Also, I feel like you would be able to market your product more since you can tell stories from what those officers have experienced. I believe that your pricing of $35 for the case is very reasonable because most phone cases are already in the $20 range for just a normal case. Since it includes a breathalyzer, its a very reasonable price that people would actually purchase. Overall, I think you did a really good job at making your post in depth.
